More about trying to catch up!

I have a confession to make--I am addicted to fabric. I love the way it feels, the way it looks, and all the dreams it evokes. Of course, my eyes are always bigger than my output. It takes way longer to make something than I every remember when I go in the store, and as a result I have lots of fabric stashed here and there just sitting waiting to be made. I decided this has got to change, so here is the first product of the summer--an apron for my dear friend Jackie. I hope she likes it, after all it has flamingos on it, and she will look HOT in it! I have enough fabric for another one if anyone is interested.

  1. I LOVE the pink flamingos!!!! And you are absolutely right, Jackie will look hot in that. Of course, right now, in Texas, everyone looks hot, I'm thinking.
Back to the apron...the black rickrack is the bomb, on there. Nicely done! (And you know I'm always interested, but I'll write that here, to save pondering.)

When I worked at Jo-Ann Fabrics, I could see something in every piece and bolt. It was a joy to be surrounded by fabric for 6 or so hours, and also to help other people discover their vision in the bolts, too. It's addictive, buying fabric, and I can see how, like books, it becomes an insulator in one's house.....see? you're just trying to save money on heating and cooling, by lining the walls with the stuff!

I sent the fabric for the little girls home with Karen last night, so it will be there for you when you get there. There's thread, interfacing, bias tape...the works. And it's washed up and ready to go.

Can't wait to see your pretty little face and give you a hug! On my way to a school finance workshop, today. A thrill a minute....

  2. I will need little bodies to measure, and try stuff on. We'll make the arrangements when I get there. I am ready to sew!
